For you may be a real shock

To understand such a connection.

Once a tree fell in love with a rock

With such truly faithful affection.

It tried to caress and embrace

The cold and indifferent stone,

In nature from different race

Was hope for proximity gone.

The Rock did not  realize

What’s going in the tree’s mind

Its modesty was a disguise

And words were too hard to find.

And how did this story end?

And what do you really expect?

Tree continued to be just a friend

Rock continued its love to neglect.
